Molar Distalization with Modified Graz Implant
نویسنده
چکیده
Palatal implant for distalization of molars can be used by two methods: I] It can be directly connected to the teeth that have to be moved by means of a distalizing device {direct method}, so that the reactionary forces are completely dissipated on the implant. II] It can be used as a reinforcement anchorage unit, by means of transpalatal bar connecting the first premolars and the implant; in this way the reactionary forces are dissipated on the dental/ implant unit {indirect method}. This article describes modified Graz implant used for distalization of maxillary molars which is a direct method to correct class II molar relationship.

Bodily distalization of molars with absolute anchorage.
Palatal implants have been used over the last two decades to eliminate headgear wear and to establish stationary anchorage. In this case report, the stability of a palatal implant for distalization of molars bodily and for anchorage maintenance was assessed. The implant was a stepped screw titanium (4.5 mm diameter x 8 mm length), and it was placed in the palatal region for orthodontic purposes...
متن کاملThe Implant Distal Jet.
M olar distalization for the treatment of Class II malocclusions has historically depended on patient compliance with intra-and extraoral auxiliaries. 1-5 In recent years, " non-compliance " devices such as the Distal Jet,* 6,7 Jones Jig,* 8 Pendulum,** 9 and repelling magnets 10 have been developed. The problem of anchorage loss during molar distaliza-tion with these appliances has not been so...
متن کاملComparison of Maxillary Molar Distalization with an Implant-Supported Distal Jet and a Traditional Tooth-Supported Distal Jet Appliance
Aim. To investigate and compare the efficiency of two appliances for molar distalization: the bone-anchored distal screw (DS) and the traditional tooth-supported distal jet (DJ) for molar distalization and anchorage loss. Methods. Tests (18 subjects) were treated with a DS and controls (18 subjects) were treated with a DJ. Lateral cephalograms were obtained before and at the end of molar distal...
متن کاملThree-dimensional bimetric maxillary distalization arches compared with a modified Begg intraoral distalization system.
The purpose of this study was to compare the dentofacial effects of two intraoral molar distalization techniques [three-dimensional bimetric maxillary distalization arches (3D-BMDA) and a modified Begg intraoral distalization system (MBIDS)] in subjects requiring maxillary molar distalization. Twenty-one patients (12 females and 9 males, mean age pre-treatment: 14.7 +/- 1.50 years) were treated...
متن کاملComparison of tooth displacement between buccal mini-implants and palatal plate anchorage for molar distalization: a finite element study.
The purposes of this study were to mechanically evaluate distalization modalities through the application of skeletal anchorage using finite element analysis. Base models were constructed from commercial teeth models. A finite element model was created and three treatment modalities were modified to make 10 models. Modalities 1 and 2 placed mini-implants in the buccal side, and modality 3 place...
